At Miles Hill Farm, we believe in creating horsemen, not just riders. Any lesson program can teach you eyes up and heels down, but we are a good fit for you if you believe, as we do, that the riding of the horse goes along with a greater responsibility to a solid foundation in horsemanship. Our riders are expected to arrive early for their lesson and learn the fundamentals of grooming and tacking up, and are expected to stay after their lesson to learn how to properly care for their mount and tack. In the saddle, we strive to create a strong foundation of the basics. We approach hunt seat riding from a place of balance, incorporating some of the basics of dressage. Riders have the option to learn to jump, and proceed to jumping once sufficiency has been reached on the flat. There are two main goals: to learn, and to have fun!

Lessons are available as half hour, forty five minute, or hour long privates, on your horse or ours. Lessons are available by series of six consecutive weeks (see current schedule below). New riders may join in at any time; you are not required to wait for a new session to begin.

Private Lessons with Kim Nemchek:

  • Half-hour private: $245/series
  • 45 minute private: $300/series
  • Hour private: $410/series

Private Lessons with Assistant Instructors:

  • Half-hour private: $190
  • 45 minute private: $245
  • Hour private: $300

Semi-private and group lessons are available as long as there is a suitable class currently available. $215/series

Leases on farm-owned horses are also available, please inquire.

Make Up Lesson Policy:

One makeup lesson is allowed per session. To be eligible for makeup, we require 24 hours notice.  This allows us to offer the vacancy to riders looking to schedule a make up. Your courtesy is appreciated.  Lessons canceled with seven days or more notice count as a rescheduled lesson and are not considered your one make up.  After one make up lesson is granted, any missed lessons are forfeited. Cancellations due to weather, instructor scheduling, or holidays do not count as your one allotted make up lesson.  In the event of a weather cancellation, you will be notified by text or email at least one hour prior to your lesson.
